Not like I was eagerly waiting to do this or anything. Let's jump on in!

Roscoe Kaan is a 15-year-old incoming sophomore who hails from Los Angeles and is so very stoked to be leaving home for a while.
He comes from a Showtime series called House of Lies, which is about a team of management consultants who like to screw each other over. The main character, Marty (played by the awesome Don Cheadle), is Roscoe's dad. Marty is great at his job and, if you're being generous, maybe occasionally halfway decent at being a dad.
Fortunately, Roscoe grew up self-sufficient and smart, and he found lots of creative outlets to pass the time while his dad was off on client engagements, like fashion, musical theater, and dance.
The one thing that he has in common with his father is that he is always incredibly honest about who he is, and makes no apologies for it. The area where he differs the most from his father is that he is incredibly emotionally expressive and loves people freely, with his whole heart.
...He got that from his grandfather.
So Roscoe grew up in a three-generational home, with his grandpa Jeremiah doing the parenting and his dad, Marty, making money to support them. Lots of money, actually. Roscoe always has his pick of designer clothes and makeup, gets great tickets to concerts and fashion shows when he asks for them, and has never had to have an after-school job to support himself. He makes it plain to his father that he'd rather have a nurturing parent (or two, even!) than all the toys and gadgets he could ever want, but since that's off the table he makes do with what he has.
Meanwhile here's Roscoe with his mom:

Marty's ex-wife and Roscoe's mom, Monica, is not the most nurturing of parental figures either. She and Marty had a very messy marriage and a messier divorce. Since then, even though she showers Roscoe in gifts, she thinks of Roscoe mainly as a pawn she can use to piss off Marty. Roscoe classifies her as a fun parent, but not someone he can rely on.
Personality-wise, Roscoe is passionate and extroverted. He's warm and affectionate by nature and likes making new friends, although sometimes a bit of an attitude will come up if he's trying to flirt with someone by being aloof or just finds someone annoying. He likes to party and has been known to drink and do drugs. In addition to music, fashion, theater, and dance, he's also into basketball, skateboarding, weight lifting, and video games, and he's cultivating a big following on Instagram.
He can be moody sometimes, and prefers to have a confrontation than hide his feelings until later if he has a bone to pick with someone. He's very expressive and, while he usually can identify what the smartest way to handle a social situation might be, sometimes he'll choose a route that will be more confrontational if it means getting feelings out in the open. He hates lying about who he is and what his opinions are.
He's also smart and likes coming up with little schemes. In canon, he comes up with a money-making scheme that involves selling knockoff handbags to classmates and passing them off as the real deal. I do want him to do this, but more likely he'll be doing it on the mainland unless a really solid opportunity comes up to play it out with other characters, in which case I will definitely also want to play out the consequences of people figuring out what he's up to.
Other stuff to know: Roscoe is genderfluid. With the exception of one character, everyone on the show has always referred to Roscoe with he/him/his pronouns, so that's what I'll be doing as well, but Roscoe is content with any pronouns and is happy to be asked. Chances are, it will be physically apparent to other characters that he "does" gender in his own creative way, since he wears makeup every day and his wardrobe includes a wide range of clothes from both the men's and women's departments:

He's also bisexual and just got out of his first relationship, which was a bit of a mess. It's around this time in canon that he starts becoming very adventurous with dating and sex. He flirts a ton and hooks up a lot, is what I'm saying.
Also, he curses a lot. He got that from his dadand from being on a premium cable show.
Roscoe is coming to Fandom about two seasons behind the show. He's coming from the end of season 3 of his canon, which ended with his dad being sent to federal prison. Rather than live with his grandpa alone or, worse yet, his mom, Roscoe is coming to what he thinks is basically a summer camp because he needs a detox after the past year, which included the aforementioned messy first relationship, and a whole lot of drama with his dad.
Just as a side note, Roscoe probably won't be 100% upfront with the fact that his father is in prison, if he's asked by a total stranger what brings him to boarding school. However, when and if he gets close enough to confide in people, it's the kind of thing he has a lot of feelings about and will probably bring up.
At the end of the summer, he's going to learn that his dad's business partner, Jeannie, is pregnant with his future half-sister, and things are going to get really complicated at home, which will help him decide that staying away from all that drama is probably for the best. But that's for later!
One last note: I will be using the default icon for him pretty much all the time because there are no icons of this kid, woe. Sorry!
