Room 516, Tuesday Morning

Roscoe woke up to a long string of text messages from his grandpa that he tried responding to before he ultimately got bored trying and forgot about it. He was more interested in spending his day in other ways, like laying on his stomach with his tablet on his bed, browsing through online shoe stores.

Look, it was fall. He needed new boots. It was important.

He had a nicely creepy Halloween playlist playing in the background, getting him in that mood. Pumpkin spice and spooky scary songs and boot shopping, it was a whole thing.

"I'm not gonna stop anyone if an orgy starts," Dante said, smirking. "But hey. Good to know." Beat. "Sleeping with your roommate's not bad, right?"

"Definitely not bad," Roscoe agreed. "Gotta hand it to you there. We just instituted a new rule that no one has to wear pants to sleep, so, you know, that's going really well."

"I know," Dante sighed. "I'm still pissed off at Hyacinthe for figuring that one out months before I did."

"You should be pissed at me, then, 'cause I've been doing that pretty much the whole time since I moved in." Roscoe grinned. "We had really different sleep schedules! I didn't know he was bothering with pants or I would have said something way sooner."

"Ugh," Dante said, though he didn't sound like he meant it. "My roommate was dating someone for the first semester or so that I knew him. And then it was suddenly pants-off time..."

"See, that's awkward," Roscoe agreed. "For you, mostly. Like did you get sexiled a lot?"

"Nah, I think his boyfriend liked doing it in the woods."

Dante, don't share details like that just like that.

Roscoe blinked. And tilted his head in thought, trying to decide if he could get behind that. So to speak.

"Okay, I don't wanna say I wouldn't even consider that, but at the same time I'd feel kinda weird about the squirrels watching."

"Don't ask me," Dante said. "Never met the guy."

"Huh." That made at least three long-term relationship-type-things this Anders guy had been a part of. Roscoe was honestly kind of amazed. Who had the emotional energy for that much dating? "Well, call me old fashioned, but I'll stick to bedrooms and occasionally very clean public bathrooms."

Sliiight TMI there, Roscoe.

Dante snickered softly. "Never met anyone who had such high standards about public bathrooms," he said. TMI? What TMI? "Pretty sure the woods thing wasn't the roomie's thing, though."

Roscoe wasn't convinced Dante and Anders didn't have... some kind of thing. A weird thing, but definitely something that looked like more than casual sex to his eyes.

"Look, I'm just saying I don't wanna be wondering what's smeared on the walls in the middle of getting my dick sucked, you know? It kinda detracts from the experience. Just a personal thing," he said, grinning.

It was complicated. But anyone who called it a relationship was going to get a weird look.

"If you're wondering about the walls, someone isn't doing a good job," Dante said.
